Richard Dale Wanke

 

Richard Dale Wanke, of Madison, formerly of Janesville was born May 14, 1948 and died October 18th, 2017 after a long illness. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1966 and attended Justin Morrell Honors College at Michigan State University, where he developed his love of languages and linguistics. He lived in Europe for several years to study languages s including French, Italian, German, Chinese, Russian and Polish. He also taught himself to play the Cello and loved both Cello and piano music. Most recently he lived in Madison where he re he utilized resources at the University for his lifelong learning. His parent Charles C and Dorothy S Wanke predeceased him; he is survived by his sister Christine of Newton Massachusetts and two nieces Sara and Anna Mason. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville where Richard will be buried by his parents. Arrangements are being made through Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, Janesville.
